Kolkata: An alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department regarding West Bengal. Strong winds, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms are likely to occur in most districts of the state during the next few days. The Meteorological Department gave this information on Tuesday. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of formation of a cyclonic circulation in northwestern Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and southern Assam from March 19 to 23 and rain and thundershowers due to moist winds rising from the Bay of Bengal.
The weather department said in a special bulletin that due to this weather condition, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and thundershowers over the districts of North Bengal from March 19-23 and South Bengal from March 19-21.
Wind will blow at high speed at one or two places in the southern part of Bengal on March 20. The wind speed is likely to be 40 to 50 km per hour. On March 21, wind will blow at high speed in almost all the districts of the southern part of Bengal. According to the Meteorological Department, the wind speed is expected to reach 30 to 40 km per hour at one or two places in most of the districts of North Bengal from March 19 to 23.
There are chances of strong thunderstorm in Jharkhand and Odisha also between March 19 and March 21. There may also be heavy rain at some places. There may be thunderstorms at isolated places in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Bihar.
