New Delhi. Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren’s chair is in danger in the matter of obtaining mining lease. In this case, the Election Commission has summoned Hemant Soren to appear on May 31. Earlier, the commission had sent a notice to Soren asking why his assembly membership should not be cancelled. Hemant Soren had asked for an additional 10 days to respond to this. Hemant Soren’s government has agreed in the Jharkhand High Court that the CM was given a lease. It was also announced to be canceled later. According to sources, Hemant Soren can either appear in the Election Commission himself, or his lawyer can go there and argue.
Hemant Soren has been called by the Election Commission after the filing of the reply. In such a situation, it seems that action can be taken against Soren. Yesterday, Hemant Soren, in his reply to the Election Commission, wrote that he had got a mining lease for 10 years in the year 2008, but that lease was not renewed in the year 2018. In the year 2021, he again got the lease of the mine, but was not allowed to work under the lease. After this, on 4 February this year, he surrendered the lease. Let us tell you that the mining department is with Hemant Soren and for this reason he is more surrounded.
In his reply to the Election Commission, Soren has claimed that he does not have any mine lease at present. He has also called the allegations against himself politically motivated. The commission has summoned him only after reading this reply. At the same time, BJP has accused Hemant Soren of taking advantage of the post. The BJP had also complained about this to the Governor of Jharkhand. On this, the Governor had sought the opinion of the Election Commission. After which the commission had called for a reply from Hemant Soren.
