Kolkata. Tomorrow is Bakrid. On this day, Muslims sacrifice animals after prayers. Just before Bakrid, Siddiqullah Chowdhury, a minister in West Bengal’s Mamata Banerjee government and the state unit of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, has justified cow sacrifice. He has clearly said in his statement that there is no problem in eating cow. Siddiqullah Chowdhury also claimed that West Bengal has a 1000-year history of slaughtering and eating cows and bulls. He was also heard citing big books in favor of cow slaughter. Listen to Siddiqullah Chowdhury’s statement.

This is not the first time that Siddiqullah Chaudhary has created a controversy by giving a statement. Even before this, he has been in the news by giving controversial statements about cow slaughter. In March 2021, Siddiqullah Chaudhary had said that Yogiji of UP had come. He had said that if we come to power in West Bengal, we will ban cow eating. Siddiqullah had said even then that cow has been eaten in Bengal for 1000-1200 years. Muslims also eat it and others also eat it. Siddiqullah had also said that big 5 star players, film actors and guests who come to us from other countries eat beef very well. Siddiqullah Chaudhary had also said that Hindu brothers are involved in the export-import of beef.
Siddiqullah Chaudhary had also said in February 2024 that if UP CM Yogi Adityanath comes to Kolkata, he will be surrounded and will not be allowed to leave. At the same time, in 2019, he had announced that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will not be allowed to set foot at Kolkata airport. Siddiqullah Chaudhary has also taken out a procession in protest against Israel’s military action against Hamas. At present, politics is expected to heat up over Siddiqullah Chaudhary’s statement once again justifying cow slaughter.
