New Delhi. If you want to port your mobile number, then this news is for you. Telecom regulator TRAI has made a new rule for mobile number porting. Under TRAI’s new order, now the consumer will have to wait for 7 days to port the mobile number. Earlier it was 10 days.

According to TRAI, the new rule of waiting for 7 days to port a mobile number will come into effect from July 1, 2024. TRAI said that under the latest rule, additional criteria have been implemented to reject the request for issuance of a special Universal Porting Code i.e. UPC. If time is sought for UPC before 7 days from the date of changing the SIM card, it will not be given. It is believed that TRAI has made a new port rule to stop cases of fraud through mobile SIM cards and numbers.
