Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar,Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Friday that the government’s desire to make the country self -reliant in defense manufacturing is commendable. He said, “We are committed to make the country self -reliant and the country is succeeding in it.”
The Defense Minister said, “We have now started exporting defense equipment manufactured in the country and we have increased this export from Rs 600 crore to Rs 2,400 crore. Our policy is to build more than 500 products in the defense sector at a domestic level. There is a plan to reduce imports and increase the defense products to Rs 3 lakh crore.”
Rajnath Singh said this at a seminar organized by the Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was also present on the occasion. “The country is becoming self -sufficient by reducing the imports of products required for defense equipment. Currently more than 500 products are being manufactured in the country.”
Meanwhile, the Defense Minister invited CM Fadnavis to lead a delegation of entrepreneurs to lead a delegation to further discussion. He said, “There are unlimited opportunities in the defense equipment manufacturing sector. A delegation of entrepreneurs under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis should come to Delhi for further discussion to adjust the courageous entrepreneurs of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.”
Earlier, the Chief Minister urged Rajnath Singh that a defense cluster should be built in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, especially when there is a good ecosystem for the industry and the capabilities of entrepreneurs should be promoted.
The Chief Minister said that “Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is now becoming an industrial center of Maharashtra. About 10,000 acres of land acquired for industrial estate has been distributed to industries and there is still a demand from entrepreneurs. Therefore, there are plans to give 8 thousand acres and land for industries. All facilities like manpower, communication and energy are available. Therefore, entrepreneurs are available for their enterprises.”
