Paris Olympics 2024: India has so far won three bronze medals in Paris Olympics 2024 and all three medals have come from shooting. Manu Bhaker of India has won two medals. She is the first Indian female player to win two medals in the same Olympics. No one had been able to do this before her. On the other hand, the Indian hockey team has created history by defeating Australia after 52 years. But the Indian players in the sports village of Paris are troubled by the heat and a big step has been taken to protect them from the heat.
Sports Ministry took steps
To provide relief to Indian players suffering from heat and humidity in Paris Olympics, the Sports Ministry has installed 40 portable ACs in their rooms in the Games Village. Sources in the ministry said that the ACs were sent to the Games Village after discussions with the French Embassy and the Indian Olympic Association. A source said that in view of the problems faced by the players due to heat and humidity in the Olympic Games Village, the Sports Ministry has decided to install 40 ACs for the Indian players there. The temperature in Paris and Chateau is very high.
The entire cost will be borne by the ministry
Swapnil Kusale, who won a bronze medal for India in 50m rifle 3 positions yesterday, could be seen drenched in sweat during the shooting in Chateaurou. There are reports that the temperature in Paris has crossed 40 degrees. Even before the games began, many countries had expressed concern over the organizers’ decision not to install ACs to keep the Games Village environmentally friendly in view of the weather in Paris. Many countries, including the US, have purchased and installed portable ACs. A ministry source said that this decision was taken on Friday morning and the ministry will bear all the costs.
