New Delhi. Modi government has taken action against central government employees who reach office late and go home before time. The DoPT department of the central government has now decided to punish such employees. Central government offices are open from 9 am to 5.30 pm.
According to the latest order of the Modi government, the central government employees will now have to mark their attendance by 9.15 am in any case. This attendance will be marked biometrically. Biometric system will have to be used even while leaving the office. Any central government employee who reaches office after 9.15 am will have his half-day casual leave deducted. The Modi government has told all the officers to strictly follow this rule. Officers have also been instructed to mark attendance through biometric system only. The central government has said that if any employee wants to come late on any day, he will have to inform his department head in advance and apply for half-day casual leave.
The central government had been receiving complaints for a long time that many employees come late and leave early. Only after this a new order was issued. The use of biometric system for recording attendance was stopped during the Covid period, but it was implemented again from February 2022. Still, many employees were not registering attendance through it. Now the attendance of central employees will be taken through biometrics only and this will effectively stop coming late to the office and leaving early. It has also been asked to monitor the employees who come late continuously. Punitive action can also be taken against those doing so.
