Amid the political crisis in Bangladesh, the interim government will be sworn in shortly. Nobel Prize winner economist Mohammad Yunus will be sworn in as the head of the interim government. Mohammad Yunus returned to Dhaka from Paris on Thursday. Three days ago on Monday, amid violent protests, Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister and left the country.

Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin dissolved the parliament on Tuesday and appointed Mohammad Yunus as the head of the interim government. Yunus was present in Paris for the Olympic Games. He returned to Bangladesh via Dubai. He directly reached Bangabhaban, the official residence of the Prime Minister. The interim government led by Yunus will take charge of the country until an elected government is formed in Bangladesh. President Mohammad Shahabuddin will administer the oath to the interim government.

About 400 dignitaries are expected to be present at the swearing-in ceremony to be held on Thursday evening. India will be represented by the Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka at this swearing-in ceremony. Here in Delhi, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal clarified the situation. He said that diplomats have been invited to this swearing-in ceremony. Our High Commissioner in Dhaka can participate in it.

In response to a question, he said that there is no update yet about when former PM Sheikh Hasina will go out of India. He said that we do not have any information about her next plan yet. Regarding the attack on people of minority community in Bangladesh, he said that we are keeping an eye on the situation. There are reports that many groups have taken steps there to protect the minorities.
