These lizards are not poisonous. Yes, their bite can cause bacterial infection. The dangerous Komodo dragon is also a type of monitor lizard. Some species are also poisonous. There have been no reports of fatalities from Bengal monitor bites. They can be about 170 cm long. They can also climb trees. They may look like crocodiles from a distance, but their family belongs to lizards.
