New Delhi. India sent three spacecraft to the moon. India showed its dominance in space by sending Chandrayaan-1, Chandrayaan-2 and Chandrayaan-3. Now India has also fixed the date for landing the first Indian on the moon. According to Hindi news channel Aaj Tak, ISRO Chief S. Somnath gave this information during a program in Punjab. ISRO Chief S. Somnath told that PM Narendra Modi has set this target to land the first Indian on the moon. According to Somnath, ISRO will launch Chandrayaan-4 mission to achieve this goal. Till now only America has been able to land humans on the moon.
ISRO Chief S. Somnath said that a big step will be taken towards landing Indian astronauts on the moon through Chandrayaan-4. According to Somnath, Chandrayaan-4 will be such a vehicle which will land on the lunar surface and return after taking soil samples from there. It is as difficult to land on the moon as it is to return from there. In such a situation, if Chandrayaan-4 is successful, then the mission of landing Indian astronauts on the Moon and bringing them back will be a great success. Somnath also informed that PM Modi has set the target of landing an Indian on the moon in the year 2040. ISRO is now working continuously to achieve this.
Let us tell you that out of the three spacecraft sent by India to the Moon so far, Chandrayaan-2 was half successful and half failed. The lander of Chandrayaan-2 suddenly fell while landing on the moon. Whereas, Chandrayaan-1 was launched in the year 2008. This mission of ISRO, while circling the Moon, had given evidence of water there. Chandrayaan-3 was sent by ISRO on 14 July 2023. On the evening of 23 August, Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander made a successful landing on the south pole of the Moon. With this, India became the first country to land a spacecraft on the south pole of the Moon.
