A shocking incident has come to light from Medinipur in West Bengal. More than 300 people from Odisha were allegedly held hostage by the locals in Medinipur. As soon as the news of this matter came to light, the police took action, after which more than 300 people were freed from captivity and reached their homes safely on Wednesday. More than 300 people who were allegedly held hostage in Medinipur, West Bengal, have returned safely to their homes with the help of the police. It is believed that they were held hostage due to the alleged attack on migrant workers from West Bengal in Odisha. According to the information, these migrant workers from West Bengal were mistaken for Bangladeshi citizens.
The hostages were from Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts
According to the information, these people from Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts had gone to Kharika village in Keshpur for treatment from a local Vaidya and were attacked by the mob while returning. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar said that due to the intervention of the police, all the people were rescued and they reached Odisha safely. (input language)
