New Delhi. It is every player’s dream to become ‘Player of the Match’ and ‘Player of the Series’ in cricket. It is easy to get the Player of the Match award by performing brilliantly in a single match, but to become the ‘Player of the Series’, it is necessary to maintain the best level of performance continuously. Two Indian players hold the top two positions in the list of those who have won the most Player of the Series (POTS) awards in international cricket (Test + ODI + T20).
Virat Kohli has played 530 international matches so far and has become the Player of the Series 21 times, while Sachin Tendulkar, who has played 134 more matches than him i.e. 664 matches, is in second place with 20 POTS. There are 3 current cricketers including Virat in the list of top 10 players. Talking about the current players, no one is in a position to compete with ‘King Kohli’. Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan is at number three after Virat and Sachin with 17 POTS, but this 37-year-old left-hander is in the last phase of his career and his performance has also declined considerably.
