This case came to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. When a daughter from Bihar brought her mother to the hospital for treatment after she fell.
47-year-old Sunita Devi, resident of Maheshpur village in Sheikhpura, Bihar, was brought to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi for treatment on May 13 after falling. The doctors of the hospital tried their best to provide better treatment to Sunita but she could not come out of unconsciousness. After trying for 4 days and doing many tests, the expert panel of the hospital declared him brain dead on 17 May.

After this, Sunita Devi’s family members started taking her, then the expert doctors of the hospital and the Organ Donation and Transplant Coordination Committee together explained to her family about the good work of organ donation. Then, despite the confusion of the family members, the daughter of deceased Suneet Devi, amidst great grief, gave permission to donate her mother’s 5 organs to the needy people in the hospital.
After this, Noto coordinated with Safdarjung and decided to allot the organs. During this time, Suneet Devi’s skin, both corneas and one kidney were transplanted to the patients of Safdarjung Hospital. While one of his kidneys was given to a patient in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. The patient who has undergone kidney transplant in Safdarjung Hospital is completely stable and recovering. Seeing the courage of the daughter, not only the doctors and staff of the hospital were praising her but the family members also agreed to her decision.
In this regard, Safdarjung Hospital’s MS Dr. Vandana Talwar appreciated this initiative of organ donation and appreciated the efforts of Organ Donation and Transplant Coordination Committee in-charge and CMO Dr. Vandana Chakraborty and Officer Incharge Dr. Binita Jaiswal.
