MP Manish Tiwari inaugurated CCTV cameras in Ramdarbar

Chandigarh Senior Congress leader, former Union Information and Broadcasting Minister and Chandigarh MP Manish Tiwari inaugurated the installation of 56 close circuit TV cameras to increase the security of residents in Ramdarbar.

On this occasion, Tiwari said that there is a huge demand for CCTV cameras across the city, whether it is village or colonies or sectors. Everywhere people and their representatives want to install close circuit TV cameras, as there are concerns about the general security of the region. Tiwari said that he has written a letter to the Director General of Police, Chandigarh, provided where CCTV cameras have been made available under the MPLAD scheme and where they will be made available in future, so that they can be unified at the integrated command Control-1 triple C level or local level police stations and beat boxes in the police monitoring network. These close circuit TV cameras were made available at the request of former Chandigarh Mayor Kamlesh and other Congress leaders of Ramdarbar and Block President Sonia Singh of Ramdarbar.

Apart from this, Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Commissioner Amit Kumar was also present on the occasion. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chairman of the Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee Harmohinder Singh Lucky also said that the initiative under the MPLAD scheme will help in increasing the security of citizens and residents across the city. When Tiwari was an MP from Anandpur Sahib, he still provided CCTV cameras in Manimajra and Bapudham and it is a part of the effort that was started even before he was elected MP from Chandigarh.

Deputy Mayor Taruna Mehta, former Mayor Surinder Singh, Wasim Mir, Mohammad Imran and many other officials of the Congress party were present on the occasion.
