Minister Mukesh Sahni’s Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) in Nitish Kumar’s government joined the BJP on Wednesday evening. The three MLAs Raju Singh, Mishrilal Yadav and Swarna Singh met BJP President Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, Deputy Chief Ministers Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi along with Assembly Speaker Vijay Sinha and handed over a letter of support to the BJP. After that the Speaker of the Assembly gave recognition to the merger of all three in the BJP Legislature Party. With the merger of VIP MLAs, BJP has become the party with the largest number of MLAs in Bihar for the first time.
VIP chief and Animal and Fisheries Resources Minister Mukesh Sahni has suffered a major setback due to this development. Now he has no option but to resign from the post of minister. The next setback for Sahani awaits in July. He may also have to lose the post of MLC. Let us tell you that the deadline for the by-election in which Mukesh Sahni was made MLC is only till July 2022.
After handing over the letter of support to the Speaker and after a long meeting there, the three MLAs reached the BJP state office along with the top leaders of the party. He also accepted the membership of the party in front of BJP State President Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal and both Deputy Chief Ministers Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi. It is to be known that in the assembly elections of the year 2020, four VIP candidates included in the NDA were victorious. Among them, Mishrilal Yadav won from Alinagar, Swarna Singh from Gaurabauram, Raju Singh from Sahebganj and Musafir Paswan from Bochahan. After the death of Musafir Paswan, there is a by-election in Bochahan on April 12.
