New Delhi. After the death of Purvanchal’s strongman Mukhtar Ansari, the body has been sent for post-mortem. Banda jail officials say that the body will be handed over to the family after post-mortem. Mukhtar’s body will be buried in Kali Bagh graveyard of Ghazipur. On the other hand, Mukhtar’s elder son Abbas Ansari, lodged in UP’s Kasganj jail, has sought parole from the court to attend his father’s funeral. Now the question arises whether Mukhtar Ansari’s most wanted wife Afshan Ansari will now come forward and attend Mukhtar’s funeral to see her husband for the last time? Mukhtar Ansari’s wife Afshan Ansari has 11 cases registered against him under serious sections and is most wanted in three cases. Police has announced a reward of Rs 50 thousand on Afshan. Afshan’s arrest remains a challenge for the police.
Afshan was not active in the world of crime from the beginning. Afshan married Mukhtar Ansari on 15 October 1989. After Mukhtar Ansari went to jail in 2005, Afshan Ansari took command of the Ansari Gang and this was his first step into the world of crime. Afshan faces many serious allegations including fraud, illegal business, intimidation and threats. In South Tola of Mau, a land was purchased by forming a company named Vikas Construction, on which construction was done. This company was in the name of five people, in which Afshan Ansari’s name was also there. Investigation revealed that this land was given to Scheduled Caste people, whose registration was forcibly done. Afshan did not even appear in the court in this case. After this a lookout notice was issued against him. Based on this case, Gangster Act was imposed against Afshan in 2022. Afshan was initially a common woman. However, Afshan’s family is linked to criminal activities. A case has been registered against Afshan’s brother Atif Raza and Anwar Shahzad under the Gangster Act.
