Ghazipur. Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari died of a heart attack. According to the postmortem report, Mukhtar’s heart stopped, due to which he died. Mukhtar’s body was brought to his native village Mohammadabad in Ghazipur amid tight security arrangements. Today his body will be laid to rest with all rituals. In view of this, complete security arrangements have been made, so that no untoward incident happens. Mukhtar’s family will also be present on this occasion.
Let us tell you that after opposition parties raised questions on the death of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, a magistrate inquiry was ordered on Friday. Ansari’s family has alleged that ‘slow poison’ was given to him in Banda jail due to which Mukhtar died. Amid security alert in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, a panel of doctors conducted the post-mortem of the body at Rani Durgavati Medical College, Banda. After the postmortem was conducted by a group of doctors at Banda Medical College, Mukhtar Ansari’s body was brought to his ancestral residence in Mohammadabad Yusufpur in Ghazipur district. Brought to Ghazipur with a convoy of 26 vehicles.
Son’s dead body handed over
Mukhtar’s lawyer Naseem Haider, who was present in the convoy, said that Ansari’s body was handed over to his younger son Omar Ansari, daughter-in-law Nikhat Ansari and two cousins. For security reasons, 24 vehicles of police officers were in the convoy and two vehicles belonged to Ansari’s family. According to Samajwadi Party MLA Mohammad Suhaib Ansari from Mohammadabad assembly seat of Ghazipur, his uncle Mukhtar Ansari will be buried at Kalibagh cemetery of Yusufpur Mohammadabad (Ghazipur) on Saturday morning at 10 am.
investigation into mukhtar’s death
According to the order issued by Banda Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Bhagwan Das Gupta, Garima Singh Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (MP-MLA Court Banda) has been appointed as the investigating officer to investigate the case. According to the order, on March 28, Senior Superintendent District Jail Banda had requested to nominate an officer for the judicial inquiry into the death of Mukhtar Ansari. The CJM has sought an investigation report from the appointed investigating officer within a month. Earlier, Director General (Prisons) SN Sabat had talked about conducting a judicial inquiry.
My health deteriorated in jail
Mukhtar Ansari was taken from Banda District Jail to Rani Durgavati Medical College after his health deteriorated on Thursday, where he died of a heart attack. Mukhtar’s family had accused Ansari of giving him slow poison in jail. Ghazipur MP and Mukhtar’s elder brother Afzal Ansari had told on Tuesday that “Mukhtar had told that he was poisoned about 40 days ago and recently it was done again probably on 19 or 22 March, after which His condition worsened.
