Mumbai,. A joint team of Shivaji Nagar and RCF police stations of Mumbai arrested 17 Bangladeshi citizens living illegally by campaigning in Govandi and Chembur areas of Mumbai. They also include five women.
The Mumbai Police has received clear instructions to take strict action against Bangladeshi citizens living illegally, under which this special campaign was conducted.
Police have formed special teams to search for illegal intruders. Each team has been given the responsibility of a certain area, where they illegally detained these Bangladeshis living in India.
It is reported that the Mumbai Police will now keep a more close watch on foreign nationals living illegally. Such action will continue even further, so that the intruders living illegally can be completely screwed.
A case has been registered against all the Bangladeshi citizens arrested under the Foreign Act and other related sections. The police is now investigating whether they have no criminal record or they were not given shelter by any gang.
Earlier on March 13, two Bangladeshi citizens were arrested by the police from Jogeshwari area of Mumbai, who had been living illegally in Mumbai for the last two years. The police seized two mobile phones from them and the investigation revealed that they were trying to repay their debt by doing wages.
The Mumbai Police had received information that some Bangladeshi citizens are coming to Jogeshwari in search of employment. On the basis of this information, the police laid a trap and as soon as two suspects reached there, the police interrogated them in custody. During interrogation, he named his names Suman Sheikh and Iman Sheikh. He was working in Meera Road area and working as a daily wage laborer.
