New Delhi. A Mumbai publisher who duped people in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has been exposed. Mumbai Police has arrested a local publisher for duping people in the name of publishing a compilation of PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ speeches. According to the police, the publisher was trying to cheat people by claiming to have published a book titled ‘Saar Granth’ of PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ speeches.
Explaining the fraud, a Mumbai Police official said on Saturday that the accused posted letters in this regard on social media and sent copies of the letters to well-known people. According to him, the 49-year-old complainant believed the claim of the accused to be true and donated Rs 4,001 to him. He told that the accused did not have any permission to raid such a compilation.
According to the police officer, he was trying to cheat people by claiming that the book would be published by the name of ‘Saar Granth’ and released by the President in March. He told that on the complaint of the victim, a case has been registered against him in the crime branch.
