Mumbai India’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, one of the busiest airports in the world, will be closed for 6 hours on October 18 for maintenance. According to airport officials, the maintenance work will be completed between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm. During this time no flight will depart from the airport. Both terminals of the airport will remain closed. The Airport Authority has given this information in its passenger advisory. Earlier, it was told by the airport operator Adani Group that on October 18, 2022, both the intersecting runways of the Mumbai airport would be closed for repairs.
About 800 flights are operated daily from its main runway 9/27 and other runway 14/32. In terms of movement of such a large number of aircraft, Mumbai Airport comes second after Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Apart from this, the Adani Group had also informed that the runway will be closed from 11 am to 5 pm due to the completion of the runway repair work on October 18.

How will the closure of the airport affect the passengers
Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport authority has taken care of the convenience of passengers during the closure of Kiran Way and all flights have already been rescheduled. Due to this, passengers will not be inconvenienced even though flights are affected during maintenance.
All flights between 11 am to 5 pm on October 18 have been re-scheduled to any earlier or later time. This will prevent passengers from reaching their destinations. However, many passengers are not aware about this, so keeping in view their convenience, boards of Maintenance in Progress will also be installed outside.
