Country People keep requesting Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on social media to reduce tax rates. Many times they also troll the Finance Minister. This pain of the Finance Minister was visible in the convocation ceremony of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal. While speaking at the program, she also talked about tax rates. She said that they should bring the tax rate to zero, but the country is facing many challenges. Sitharaman said, ‘Being the Finance Minister, there comes a time when people ask why the tax system is like this, why the tax cannot be reduced, then I do not get the motivation to answer.’
‘I wish to make the tax zero’
Sitharaman said that they can make the tax rates zero, but the country needs tax. The Finance Minister said at the convocation ceremony of Bhopal IISER, ‘I want to bring the tax to almost zero, but the country is facing big challenges and the country has to overcome them.’
IISER’s 11th Convocation
During the 11th convocation ceremony at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhopal, the Chief Minister of the state Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman laid the foundation stone of the academic building and lecture hall of the institute. They also participated in the academic procession.
