Nagaur. The efforts of the National Democratic Party (RLP) supremo and Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal have gained great success. The Government of India has approved the issue related to the inclusion of Nagauri Paan Methi in the Schedule of the Indian Masala Board. MP Hanuman Beniwal said that since his becoming the first MP, till now, he had raised the demand to include Nagauri Paan Methi in the Masala Board’s schedule list several times in the Lok Sabha and to give it a GI (Geographical Indication) tag. Work started in this direction only after his continuous efforts.
The MP said that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India has also issued a gazette notification (Gazette notification) to include Pan Methi in the Schedule of the Indian Masala Board. Beniwal expressed confidence that this decision will increase the economic benefit of fenugreek growing farmers in the coming years and Nagauri Paan Methi will get priority in the international market. Also, Nagauri Paan Methi will also pave the way for GI tag, which will further increase its unique identity and value.
Will meet the minister soon: MP Hanuman Beniwal also said that he will soon meet Union Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal to demand GI tag to Pan Methi. This step will prove to be important in giving Nagauri Paan Methi a special identity globally.
