Meerut. The largest underground station of RRTS is being built at Begumpul in Meerut. Passengers will get the services of Namo Bharat and Metro train simultaneously from here. This station has the maximum number of entry-exit points from other stations of Meerut. The tunnel work at Begumpul station has already been completed. This will be the first time in the country when both Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro will be seen running on the same track. Meerut Metro will be operated on the infrastructure of RRTS. This is happening for the first time in the country. The target is to start the entire project of RRTS and Meerut Metro by next year.

Begumpul will be the only underground station of Namo Bharat Train in Meerut, which has 4 entry-exits.
The first entry/exit point has been constructed keeping in mind the people coming from Abu Lane. The second entry/exit point gate will be built for the people coming from Sotiganj. The third gate is being built towards National Inter College while the last and fourth one is being built towards the Meerut Cantt area.

Passengers will be able to come and go to the station from four entry/exit points being built around the station. Not only will they be able to travel within Meerut city by metro but they will also be able to travel further to Ghaziabad or Delhi by Namo Bharat Train from this station. The length of Begumpul station is about 246 meters and the width is about 24.5 meters. The depth of the station is about 22 meters. Despite such depth, the convenience of passengers has been taken care of and there is a provision of a total of 20 escalators at different places at each entry/exit point to go from one level to another, out of which 13 have already been installed.

Along with stairs, five lifts will also be constructed at the station, the work of which is in progress. NCRTC has also prepared the stations for medical assistance. Such lifts have been built at each station, which are large in size so that stretchers etc. can be carried in them if needed for medical assistance. Not only this, there is a facility to carry stretchers in the train as well.

Begumpul station has four levels. Apart from ground, there are mezzanine, concourse and platform levels. There will be passenger facilities at the concourse level where passengers will be able to enter through the AFC gate after security check. The platform level will be island type where trains will be available for going in both directions. The tunnel work at Begumpul station has already been completed and the technical rooms are also almost ready. The stairs inside the station have also been almost prepared. Apart from this, the work of flooring, finishing etc. is in progress. AC ducts have also been installed for air conditioning.

Two tracks are being built at Begumpul station. The track has been laid on the up-line, the installation of which is in progress. It is being built in such a way that Namo Bharat train and Meerut Metro can be operated simultaneously at this station. This will be the first time in the country that both Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro will be seen running on the same track.
Apart from Begumpul, Meerut Central and Bhainsali are also underground stations in Meerut but only Meerut Metro facilities will be available on them. Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro facilities will be available only on Meerut South, Shatabdi Nagar, Begumpul and Modipuram stations in the city. A total of 13 stations are being built in the city in a section of 23 kilometers for Meerut Metro. Of these, Meerut Central, Bhainsali and Begumpul are underground, the rest are elevated.
