National Herald case: Anurag Thakur accused Congress serious allegations of corruption

New Delhi . Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Anurag Thakur made serious allegations of corruption on the Congress party in a press conference on Friday in the National Herald newspaper case. It was called the “corruption model” of the Congress.

MP Anurag Thakur said that the Congress waived a loan of Rs 90 crore and transferred assets worth Rs 2000 crore to the young Indian company for only Rs 50 lakh.
Thakur questioned whether a political party can give loans like this and if the loan was given, was interest on it?
Thakur said that the National Herald, which was earlier a daily newspaper, is no longer published regularly. Nevertheless, the governments of Congress ruled states are giving it a huge amount of advertisements.
Giving the example of his home state of Himachal Pradesh, he said that big daily newspapers get less amount, while “silver coins” are given to the National Herald. He asked, “Has this newspaper become the ATM of Congress?”
Citing the charge sheet of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Thakur said that it recorded facts related to the date, time, place and transactions of the crime.
He alleged that the Congress ruled state is giving money to the National Herald as an advertisement with the tax money of the people. Referring to the assets worth billions of rupees given to the newspaper at Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow and other cities, he questioned whether their fare is being properly charged or it is also fake?
Thakur also accused the Congress of promise. He said that in Himachal Pradesh, the Congress neither promised women, nor fulfilled the promises of DA installment, nor the promises of buying cow dung or milk to the employees. Nevertheless, there is no shortage in giving money to the National Herald for advertising.
Taking a dig at the young Indian company, he said that two former national presidents of the Congress have a 76 percent stake in it.
Thakur asked that if the debt was to be forgiven, why the debt of Associated Journal Limited (AJL), the native of the National Herald, was not forgiven?
He also questioned what happened to the interests of more than 1000 shareholders?
Thakur demanded that the public should be told how much and when the Congress ruled states advertised the National Herald.
He said that giving so much advertisement to a non-nominated newspaper and giving less money to daily newspapers shows the “corruption model” of the Congress.
