Chandigarh Haryana Legislative Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan has taken command of preparations on a large scale to make the national conference of urban local bodies a success. On Monday, after meeting with the state government and senior officials of the state government in the Assembly Secretariat, he discussed all the arrangements in detail. This important conference is proposed to be held in Gurugram in the first week of July, which is being hosted by the Haryana Assembly.
Assembly Speaker Kalyan directed the officials that it is the common responsibility of everyone to make this event of national importance a success. He said that this conference is an important step towards realizing the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘one nation, one legislature’. The roadmap of the future plan will be decided to increase the participation of urban local bodies in the development of the country from this platform. Recently, this resolution was also repeated at the All India Conference of Presiding Officers in Patna.
The Speaker said that it is a matter of pride for Haryana that it has been an opportunity to host the first National Conference associated with such a big purpose. Through this event, there will be a new beginning towards empowering urban bodies. Also, the examples of the functioning of the Haryana legislature and the hospitality of the state will be presented across the country.
On this occasion, Vikas Gupta, Commissioner and Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department, Additional Director Y. S. Gupta, Director General of Department of Information, Public Relations, Arts and Cultural Affairs, K.M. Pandurang, Advisor to Assembly Speaker Ram Narayan Yadav, Secretary of Haryana Legislative Assembly Dr. Satish Kumar and other senior officials were also present.
