New Delhi. The security forces have once again achieved major success in the ongoing anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh. Seven Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces on the border of Narayanpur and Kanker districts. Not only this, a large quantity of weapons including AK 47 rifles have been recovered from the slain Naxalites. The search operation is going on and the number of killed Naxalites may increase.
According to the police, an encounter started this morning between the soldiers of the joint team of District Reserve Guard and Special Task Force and the Naxalites in Abujhmad area of the border area of Narayanpur and Kanker districts. Two women Naxalites are also included among the killed Naxalites. Earlier on April 16, in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Kanker, Chhattisgarh, 29 Naxalites including top Naxalite commander Shankar Rao, who carried a reward of Rs 25 lakh, were killed. A huge quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered from them. Let us tell you that recently during a rally in Chhattisgarh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has claimed that in the coming two years, the Narendra Modi government will root out Naxalism from Chhattisgarh.
It is noteworthy that before the Lok Sabha elections, the operation to arrest Naxalites has been intensified by the security forces. Earlier on April 6, three Naxalites were killed in an encounter by security forces in Bijapur. Many weapons including an LMG and an AK-47 rifle were also recovered from the slain Naxalites. On April 2, the police had killed 13 Naxalites, including three women Naxalites, in a fierce encounter in the forest of Korcholi and Lendra in Gangalur police station area of Bijapur. This encounter lasted for 8 hours. Even after this encounter, the security forces recovered a large quantity of weapons.
