New Delhi. Security forces have achieved great success in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. In an encounter here, security forces have killed three Naxalites. Many weapons including an LMG and an AK-47 rifle were also recovered from the slain Naxalites. Earlier on April 2, the police had killed 13 Naxalites including three women Naxalites in a fierce encounter in the forest of Korcholi and Lendra in Gangalur police station area of Bijapur.
Giving information about the encounter, Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav said that the search operation was being conducted as part of the anti-Naxal campaign being run by the security forces. Meanwhile, security forces had an encounter with Naxalites in the forest near Usoor police station area. In this encounter, three Naxalites were killed and the automatic weapons recovered from them were confiscated. He said that at present the search operation is going on in the area. It is possible that there may be some more Naxalites hiding nearby. He said that we will be able to give detailed information only after the search operation is completed.
Let us tell you that on April 2, 13 Naxalites were killed by security forces in an encounter in the forest of Gangalur police station area of Bijapur. This encounter lasted for 8 hours. After the encounter, the security forces had recovered many sophisticated weapons from the incident site. These include LMG rifle, 12 bore single shot BGL launcher, air gun 2 nos., hand grenade, UBGL, tiffin bomb, gelatin stick, cardex wire, safety fuse, detonator, electric wire, laptop, DVD writer, walkie-talk, solar plate, Naxalite. Uniforms, propaganda material and Naxalite literature were found. Of these 13 killed Naxalites, 11 have been identified while two Naxalites have not been identified yet. Efforts are being made to gather information regarding these.
