new Delhi. In two separate operations conducted in Patna and Chennai, one person was arrested and several kilos of narcotics seized. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) gave this information on Tuesday. In the first case, a person was caught in Patna with 14 kg of opium worth one lakh rupees. He was supplying opium in Bihar through SUV. NCB got information about the accused and laid a trap, after which the culprit was apprehended and opium packed in polythene was recovered from him. NCB may seek his custody to know about his gang and associates.
In the second case, the NCB team in Chennai intercepted a suspicious air parcel and recovered 10 kg of pseudoephedrine, which was to be delivered to Australia.
The NCB team had detected some such parcels earlier as well and during further investigation, more details about the pseudoephedrine parcel came to light.
NCB India tweeted, “10 kg Pseudoephedrine tablet worth Rs 25,000 was packaged in two boxes with fan.”
An NCB official said that the parcel was cleverly packed in two table fans and the drug was recovered after opening them.
