New Delhi. A team of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) has successfully conquered Mount Everest, the top of the world’s highest mountain. These youth, who have achieved this great achievement in the field of mountaineering, have increased the pride of India on the world stage by doing so. On Wednesday, India Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth met the winners of the Mount Everest campaign.

On the occasion of this meeting in New Delhi, the cadets shared their experiences before the Minister of State for Defense. This team of the National Cadet Corps explained in detail the Minister of State for Defense about the challenges of the climbing campaign, training and climbing on Mount Everest.

The Minister of State for Defense appreciated the courage, dedication and team spirit of the cadets and congratulated him for his amazing work. This achievement is the third successful Everest campaign of NCC so far. Earlier in 2013 and 2016, such campaigns were successfully completed.

The campaign team of this time included a total of 10 cadets. Among them were 5 boys and 5 girls. One important thing is that the average age of this team, which conquered Mount Everest, was only 19 years. Not only this, many of them were newly educated climbers. The team had the support of an experienced party of officers, junior commissioned officers, trainers and non-kissing officers, which made this climb of Mount Everest a well-organized and professional campaign. The campaign was sent from New Delhi by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on 3 April.

In view of the successes of NCC, it has been decided to expand the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in the country. Around three lakh new cadets will be added from across the country to the National Cadet Corps. This information has been given by Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth himself.

He shared this information at the conference of Special United States representatives of the National Cadet Corps and Additional and Deputy Director General. During this period, he announced expansion of NCC in a planned manner of NCC with connecting three lakh cadets across the country. Many states have already agreed to this expansion and are committed to rapid growth in the infrastructure required for training.
