The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will release books for classes 3 and 6 under the new syllabus in April and May. Earlier last week, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) directed all affiliated schools to follow the new syllabus and textbooks for classes 3 and 6 from the 2024-25 academic session this month and in May. Release has been announced. NCERT also said that it is trying to provide school books on time and till now about 33 lakh books of classes 1, 2, 7, 8, 10 and 12 have been printed and delivered to the book shops.
The council said that books of classes 3, 4, 5, 9 and 11 will be available in the market by this month, while books of class 6 will be available in May. Releasing books for two classes under the new syllabus has been planned by NCERT as Class 3 marks the beginning of preparation and Class 6 marks the beginning of the middle stage and they need a revamp so that they are in line with the national curriculum.
