NCW Team Reached RG Kar Medical College: National Commission for Women team reached RG Kar Medical College, sought report from authority, BJP targeted Mamata government

New Delhi. A team of National Commission for Women reached the medical college today amidst the ongoing hearing in the Calcutta High Court in the case of rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. The Women’s Commission has sought all the reports from the investigating authority and has assured the protesting doctors and medical students while talking to them.

Commission member Delina Khandup said that we have spoken to the authority and the representatives of doctors and medical students. We have asked them to cooperate with us in the investigation. The authority has asked for a few days to fulfill the demands of the doctors and medical students. We have asked for all the reports from the authority and they will share them with us. The police has sent its investigation report till now only yesterday. We will study it again today. The forensic report of this entire case is also being prepared, it will take some time. I also met the victim’s family yesterday.

On the other hand, BJP has targeted the West Bengal government in this matter. BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said that there is no law and order in West Bengal. Women are being tortured and even women doctors posted on duty are not spared. This case should be handed over to the CBI. Despite having a woman CM, Mamata Banerjee has failed to provide security to women.

At the same time, BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala said that what happened in West Bengal is no less than Nirbhaya Part 2. The evidence is pointing towards the fact that it was not rape, it was gang rape, but only one accused has been arrested. The rest of the accused are being saved because they are associated with TMC.
