Bhopal. Taking a historical step towards social justice in Indian society, the Modi government at the Center has decided to include caste -based calculations in the upcoming census. This decision will not only promote social inclusion, but will also make policy-making more data-based and effective. However, behind this achievement, the untiring efforts and determination of Apna Dal (S) National President and Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel should be given the most credit. Anupriya has raised the demand for caste census from road to Parliament, and today the demand for this demand means that the struggle of Apna Dal (S) workers who have been under her leadership for years have won. He established this demand at the national level by the party’s founder Dr. Sonelal Patel’s principle ‘whose number is heavy, as much as its stake’. This is the result of his commitment to foresight and social justice that this demand is turning into reality today.
Anupriya raised the issue not only in Parliament, but also on NDA meetings and various forums, as a result of which the central government took this historic decision. It is also very important to mention here that Under the leadership of Anupriya Patel, Apna Dal (S) has achieved many important achievements for other backward classes. Under his leadership, 27 percent OBC reservation was implemented in Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and Sainik Schools.
Apart from this, his role in implementing OBC reservation has also been notable in prestigious medical entrance examinations like NEET and postgraduate admission process. This is not just policy change, but a step opening new doors of education and opportunity for millions of OBC youth.
Also, Anupriya’s efforts were given constitutional status to the National Backward Classes Commission, which is an important step towards strengthening the rights of the OBC community. This commission is playing an important role in understanding the problems of the OBC community and making policies for them. But the struggle of Apna Dal (S) does not end here.
Under the leadership of Anupriya, we are constantly trying to demand 27 percent OBC reservation in the private sector and the demand for the formation of a separate OBC Ministry. The establishment of the OBC Ministry will make it easier to make policies centered for backward classes and ensure their welfare. This demand will prove to be important in achieving the broader goal of social justice.
This decision of caste census is a new beginning not only for OBC, but also for all the underprivileged sections of the society. This will ensure that every community gets representation and opportunities in proportion to its population. Apna Dal (S) will continue to struggle for social equality and justice, further strengthening its commitment in this direction.
