Neeraj Chopra Final: India’s superstar athlete Neeraj Chopra did wonders today. In the qualifying round of javelin throw, Neeraj secured his place in the final in his first attempt. While Neeraj Chopra’s entry into the final was celebrated, our other athlete Kishore Jena missed out on going to the next round. Now the question is when will Neeraj Chopra enter the field again in the final and at what time will his match be held, we will tell you this.
Neeraj Chopra threw 89.34 meters in his first attempt
Olympic 2020 gold medalist Neeraj Chopra confirmed his place in the final of the men’s javelin throw event with a brilliant throw of 89.34 meters in the first attempt of Group B qualification. Neeraj has made a great start to defend his title by crossing the automatic qualification mark of 84 meters by a big margin in his first throw. It was also his best throw this season and the biggest throw among the players who got direct qualification for the final in all the groups. Neeraj, the reigning world and Asian Games champion, is yet to surpass his career best throw of 89.94 meters achieved at the Stockholm Diamond League on June 30, 2022 in Sweden.
Teen Jenna faced disappointment
In Group A, India’s Kishore Kumar Jena, however, failed to make it to the final after he produced a best effort of 80.73m in his first attempt. He fouled the second throw before throwing 80.21m in the third attempt. In Group B, Grenada’s Anderson Peters and Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem also reached the final with throws above the 84m mark. Both athletes achieved the feat in their initial attempts. Peters threw 88.63m, while Nadeem’s effort finished third in the group with an 86.59m throw, thus finishing behind Chopra.
Neeraj Chopra will enter the final on August 8 at night
The final will now be held between the 12 athletes who have confirmed their place for the final in javelin throw. This match will be held on 8 August. This means that Neeraj and the rest of the athletes will have enough time to strengthen their preparations. Neeraj Chopra will be seen in the field once again at around 11:50 pm Indian time. There is every possibility that Neeraj will once again bring gold and he can also become the player to win gold for India twice in a row. So far India has won gold back to back only in the team event, but this time it can be seen happening in the individual event as well.
