His previous individual was the best and national record was 89.94 meters, which he achieved in the Stockhom Diamond League in 2022. After a stable beginning in which he reached 88.44 meters in his first attempt and then a foul, Chopra threw a tremendous throw in his third attempt – his spear fell beyond the 90 -meter mark ripping the sky of the night of Doha.
Counting a distance of 90.23 meters, not only in the audience but also in social media and India and other places, cheers echoed in the sports world. With this throw, Neeraj has joined the elite class of players who crossed the 90 meter mark, including the current Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan. This confirms their position as one of the great players of this game. Relief and happiness were clearly visible on his face – it was not just a figure; It was a personal achievement.
Chopra failed his fourth attempt and when it seemed that the Indian star would win another gold medal in the Diamond League Meet, Weber came from behind and overtook with a brilliant throw. Chopra could not make his best attempt in his sixth and final attempt and ended with 88.20 meters and had to be satisfied with the second place.
