New Delhi. After the NEET-UG exam paper leak case came to light, the Ministry of Education postponed the NEET-PG exam to be held on June 22. Now fresh information has come about the NEET-PG exam. According to the English newspaper The Times of India, the NEET-PG exam can be conducted in August 2024. For this, the National Board of Examinations under the Ministry of Health is expecting some approval from the government.
The newspaper has informed quoting sources that the exam dates will be announced as soon as the necessary approval is received from the government. Sources from the National Board of Examination (NBE) told the newspaper that the candidates will have to be given at least 4 weeks of time for preparation. In such a situation, the exam cannot be conducted before August. Under the NEET-PG exam, admission is to be taken on about 70000 seats for higher medical studies in government and private medical colleges. This time more than 2 lakh students had applied for this exam.
The government had decided to postpone the NEET-PG exam along with handing over the investigation of the irregularities in the NEET-UG exam to the CBI. The government had said that the decision to postpone the exam was taken to prevent any kind of irregularities in the NEET-PG exam. Meanwhile, NTA had recently announced the dates for conducting other exams including the cancelled NET, but the dates of the NEET-PG exam have not been announced yet. NTA also conducts the NEET-PG exam. On the other hand, the CBI is rapidly investigating the irregularities in the NEET-UG exam. Many accused have been arrested in the case of paper leak and filling the correct answers in the OMR sheet after the exam.
