NEET UG scam: CBI gets big success, arrests NIT graduate and 2 MBBS students


New Delhi. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday arrested a B.Tech graduate from NIT-Jamshedpur, who was among the masterminds of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) question paper leak case, and two MBBS students who allegedly worked as ‘solvers’, officials said.

He said that with these arrests, the total number of people arrested so far by the agency in six cases related to alleged irregularities has increased to 21. Both the MBBS students were arrested from a medical institute in Bharatpur, Rajasthan on Saturday.

He said Kumar Mangalam Bishnoi, a second-year MBBS student, and Deependra Sharma, a first-year student, were present in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand on May 5 and were allegedly working as ‘solvers’ for a question paper stolen by an engineer named Pankaj Kumar. Kumar has already been arrested.

He said Shashikant Paswan alias Shashi alias Pasu, who completed B.Tech (Electrical) from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, was working in collaboration with Kumar and Rocky, who has already been arrested.
