Amid the ongoing tussle over SIR in Bihar, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has retaliated on the Election Commission’s ultimatum. He has said that he is not afraid of anyone. We will bring each truth of vote theft to the public. Tejashwi Yadav, Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly involved in the yatra also criticized the Election Commission.
Today is the second day of Congress’s voter rights journey in Bihar. Rahul Gandhi’s convoy reached Aurangabad on Monday as part of the voter rights journey started from Sasaram. He offered prayers at Dev’s Sun Temple with Tejashwi. Earlier, in a meeting on Sunday night, Rahul Gandhi said on the affidavit or apology of the Election Commission that Modi ji, Amit Shah and the Election Commission should understand that I am neither afraid of you, nor Tejashwi Yadav nor Bihar is afraid. I guarantee that I will bring the truth of vote theft in front of the people of India. I do not back down from what I say.
Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav said that SIR is a big conspiracy. Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav’s alliance will not allow democracy to be destroyed in Bihar. Efforts are being made to destroy the existence of the people of Bihar. The name will be removed from the first voter list, then from the ration card and then from the pension list. You guys have to take revenge for this conspiracy with a vote injury.
The Election Commission held a press conference on Sunday and responded to the opposition’s allegations on SIR. Chief Election Commissioner Dnyanesh Kumar dismissed all his allegations including irregularities in the voter list without naming Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha. He also said that he would have to pay an affidavit in seven days or apologize to the country. There is no third option. In the 85 -minute press conference, the Chief Election Commissioner said that the purpose of SIR is to remove all errors in voter lists. Rejecting the theft allegations, the Chief Election Commissioner said that all stakeholders are working in a transparent manner to make SIR successful in Bihar.
