Mathura: In the case of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Eidgah in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, a new application has been filed in a court saying that the present sanctum sanctorum at the birthplace of Shri Krishna, which is being said to be the birthplace of God, is actually not the original sanctum sanctorum.
It has been said in the application that the sanctum sanctorum built in the ancient Keshavdev temple was demolished by the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb in the year 1669-70 and Idgah was constructed at that place. Therefore, by placing a notice board there, it should be clearly told to the visitors coming to visit the sanctum sanctorum that that place is not the actual sanctum sanctorum.
In the application filed by lawyer PV Raghunandan in the court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) Anupama Singh, it has been requested that it is known that the present sanctum sanctorum is not actually the original sanctum sanctorum of Lord Shri Krishna. It was said that the main part of the temple containing the original sanctum sanctorum of the Lord was demolished by Aurangzeb and the Shahi Idgah was constructed in its place.
It was said in the application that hence now a notice board should be put up there to tell the truth to the devotees coming there that it is not the real sanctum sanctorum. Petitioner’s lawyer Pankaj Joshi told the media that in this case the court has asked the Managing Trustee and Secretary of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Trust; Director, Archaeological Survey of India; A request has been made to make the Secretary of Religious Affairs of Uttar Pradesh Government, Uttar Pradesh Government and others parties and order the installation of notice boards.
He said that the application has been approved, but no date of hearing has been fixed.
