WhatsApp Working on new payment feature for Indian users. Users will now be able to make international payments through WhatsApp. Meta’s instant messaging app launched payment services in India in November 2020. However, due to the presence of apps like PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm already in the market, WhatsApp’s payment service has not become so popular. According to a leaked report, users will now be able to make international UPI payments through WhatsApp.
A tipster named @AssembleDebug has shared information about this international payment service of WhatsApp through his X handle. In the screenshot shared by the tipster, it can be seen that users will be able to make international payments through WhatsApp Pay for three months. However, the tipster has not told in which beta version this feature has been seen.
Not available for all users
Tipster told that WhatsApp is now bringing international UPI payment service for Indian users. However, this service is not available to all users right now, but this app of Meta will support international payment services like payment apps like PhonePe, Google Pay (GPay).
Tipster on X has shared that WhatsApp Payments feature Forgot UPI PIN beneath international payment An option will appear. After clicking on it, a new window opens, in which the user will have the option to select the start date and end date. This feature can be enabled for three months.
According to the report, WhatsApp Pay users will be able to make international payments from their Indian bank accounts. However, it is not yet clear which payment merchants you will be able to make payments to outside India. This service of international payment through UPI can be available in those countries where India’s UPI service is available. According to Tipster, users will have to enable international payment service every three months. It will automatically expire after three months.
