Chandrababu Naidu took oath as CM, PM Modi congratulated him
Chandrababu Naidu : TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu has taken oath as Chief Minister. He has become the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth time. Governor S Abdul Nazir administered the oath of CM to Chandrababu Naidu. Pawan Kalyan has also taken oath along with Chandrababu Naidu. He will hold the post of Deputy CM in the new government. Chandrababu Naidu has previously been the Chief Minister of the state thrice. Many dignitaries including PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah are present in this ceremony. Immediately after Chandrababu Naidu’s swearing-in, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hugged him and congratulated him.
25-member Council of Ministers
A total of 25 members of the Council of Ministers are being sworn in under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu. Jana Sena Party President Pawan Kalyan will be the Deputy CM in the NDA-led government. The list of ministers includes three ministers from the Jana Sena Party and one from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The rest are from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Governor S Abdul Nazir administered the oath of office to Chandrababu Naidu as CM. South superstars Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth are also present on the stage during the swearing-in ceremony.
Many celebrities including PM Modi, Amit Shah were present
The council of ministers includes Chandrababu Naidu’s son and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh, TDP’s Andhra Pradesh unit president K Atchannaidu and Jana Sena Party’s political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Health Minister JP Nadda, other Union ministers, leaders of NDA allies and chief ministers of some states are present at the swearing-in ceremony. Naidu finalised his council of ministers after a meeting with Amit Shah and JP Nadda at his residence in Amaravati late Tuesday night.
17 new faces in Naidu’s cabinet
There are 17 new faces in Naidu’s cabinet. The rest have been ministers before. The TDP chief has kept one post vacant. There are three women in the cabinet. Senior leader N Mohammed Farooq is the only Muslim face in the cabinet. The list of ministers includes eight from backward class, three from scheduled caste and one from scheduled tribe. Naidu has included four ministers each from Kamma and Kapu communities. Three from Reddy and one from Vaishya community have got place in the cabinet.
