Late Friday night, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) took a big action in several Dharamshalas in the famous pilgrimage center of Rajasthan Mehndipur Balaji town. This sudden action caused a stir in the area. As soon as the NIA team reached Dharamshalas late at night, there was chaos among the operators and passengers present there.
According to the information, this action was taken in search of a crook associated with the gang of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The NIA recently detailed the said crook on serious charges of forced recovery, threats and weapons smuggling. During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused was staying in Mehandipur Balaji some time ago and probably came in contact with other gang members here.
The NIA got input that members of the Lawrence gang are taking shelter under the guise of religious places and are using such places to conduct criminal activities. In this episode, this search operation was conducted on Friday night. However, it is not yet clear whether any arrest or suspicious material has been recovered during the search.
Dharamshala operators panic
When the NIA team reached Mehndipur Balaji, it knocked directly into various Dharamshalas. The rooms of several Dharamshalas were thoroughly searched and the documents of the passengers stayed there were examined there. During this time Dharamshala operators were also questioned and CCTV footage was investigated.
Local administration and police cooperated
The NIA team also got the support of local police and administration during this period. The search operation was carried out completely secretly and with extreme vigilance, so that no dislocation or religious sentiment is hurt.
Pilgrimage places will not be allowed to become refuge for criminals: Police
Dausa police officials say that pilgrims like Mehandipur Balaji will not be allowed to become a refuge of criminals. The input and action of the NIA also indicates that criminals are now trying to hide their activities by misusing religious places.
