Indian The stock market opened with gains today on Thursday. Nifty crossed 25,000 for the first time and Sensex made a fresh all-time high. Bombay Stock Exchange’s index Sensex opened with gains at 81,949.68 today as against yesterday’s close of 81,741.34 points. In early trade, Sensex was seen trading at 82,048 with a gain of 0.35 percent or 309 points. It went up to 82129.49 points, which is the fresh all-time high. In early trade, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 23 stocks were seen trading in the green and 7 in the red. At the same time, National Stock Exchange’s index Nifty was seen trading at 25,056 with a gain of 0.42 percent or 105 points. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 36 stocks were seen trading in the green and 14 in the red.
These stocks rose
Among the Nifty pack stocks, Maruti rose the most by 3.38 per cent, Coal India by 2.80 per cent, JSW Steel by 2.53 per cent, Hindalco by 2.39 per cent and Power Grid by 1.84 per cent. On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra fell the most by 2.10 per cent, Hero Motocorp by 1.21 per cent, BPCL by 1.04 per cent, Sun Pharma by 0.72 per cent and Asian Paints by 0.52 per cent.
Status of sectoral indices
Talking about sectoral indices, the highest rise was recorded in Nifty Metal at 1.47 percent. Apart from this, Nifty Bank rose 0.54 percent, Nifty Auto rose 0.15 percent, Nifty Financial Services rose 0.49 percent, Nifty FMCG rose 0.13 percent, Nifty IT rose 0.05 percent, Nifty Pharma rose 0.06 percent, Nifty PSU Bank rose 0.52 percent, Nifty Private Bank rose 0.43 percent, Nifty Healthcare Index rose 0.16 percent, Nifty Consumer Durables rose 0.48 percent, Nifty Oil & Gas rose 0.27 percent and Nifty Midsmall Healthcare rose 0.22 percent. Apart from this, Nifty Realty fell by 0.85 percent.
