Dadri. The clerics have taken a big decision in UP’s Gautam Buddha Nagar. The clerics have decided that if a DJ plays in a procession, they will not conduct Nikah at such a place. On Saturday, a procession was taking place in front of the new population on GT Road in Dadri. In this procession, the baraatis were dancing on the DJ. The cleric of the local mosque came out after hearing the DJ’s voice. He stopped the procession. The Maulvi said that no Maulvi will teach Nikah if the DJ is playing at the wedding. It is being told that the procession was going from outside Chand Masjid to Syana in Bulandshahr.
The procession proceeded after the horse ride at 10 am. Women and men were dancing on the DJ. When the procession reached near Chand Masjid and Madrasa, many clerics came out there. He said that there is a ban on DJ and fireworks in wedding processions, but this is happening here. He also threatened social boycott to the family taking out the procession. After which the DJ was stopped in the procession. People are expressing surprise on this decision of clerics.
Earlier, the Maulvi had refused to teach Nikah when the DJ played at the wedding in Jhansi. This incident was in the headlines. Whereas, in Kotdwar of Uttarakhand too, the Qazis made a collective announcement not to teach nikah on playing DJ or bursting fireworks. Now the incident in Dadri has reminded me of those cases also. The latest decision of clerics against DJ in Dadri is making media headlines. DJs and fireworks are expected to stop in Muslim weddings in the coming days.
