New Delhi. Rouse Avenue Court reserved its verdict on the bail plea of former Delhi Deputy CM and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia, arrested in a money laundering case related to the Delhi Liquor Policy scam. The court will give its decision in this matter on April 30. Earlier, CBI said a big thing while opposing the bail plea of Manish Sisodia in the court. CBI lawyer said that Manish Sisodia is the main accused in the Delhi liquor scam, so if he is granted bail, he can tamper with the evidence while being out of jail.
The petition filed by Sisodia in Rouse Avenue Court seeking bail for election campaign was withdrawn today. In this regard, Sisodia’s lawyer says that since the court has reserved its decision on the petition seeking regular bail, we are withdrawing the petition seeking bail for the election campaign. Earlier, ED had also opposed Sisodia’s bail plea. On April 12, the court had issued notice to CBI and ED asking them to file their reply within a week.
Manish Sisodia was arrested last year on 26 February 2023 and since then he has not got any relief. In this case, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is also lodged in Tihar under ED custody. ED had also arrested AAP MP Sanjay Singh in the same case. However, recently Sanjay Singh got bail from the court and came out of jail. In the same case, ED has arrested former Telangana CM KCR Rao’s daughter and BRS leader K. Kavita was also arrested. After this CBI Asked permission from the court to interrogate Kavita. After interrogation, CBI arrested Kavita from ED custody.
