In the 25 -year -old double murder case in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, dangerous criminal Raja Kolandar has been convicted. Raja Kolandar, who is notorious for his cannibal acts and human skull collection, was found guilty by the Lucknow court on Monday in this double murder case in 2000. Judge Rohit Singh will announce his sentence on Friday.
Double murder case seriousness
Raja Kolendar alias Ram Niranjan and his brother -in -law Bachhraj Cole are accused of kidnapping and murder of 22 -year -old Manoj Kumar Singh and his driver Ravi Srivastava. The case was registered on 24 January 2000 in connection with the disappearance of both persons coming from Lucknow to Rewa and later in the forests of Shankargarh, their bodies. Manoj’s father Shiv Harsh Singh lodged a complaint about the murder.

Raja Kolandar has been convicted in a high profile case earlier. He is already serving life imprisonment on the charge of killing journalist Dhirendra Singh. In that case 14 human skulls were recovered from his farmhouse. Hearing started after 25 years
The investigation of the case was pending due to legal complications after filing the charge sheet on 21 March 2001. The hearing started in 2013, after which the court conducted a detailed investigation. A total of 12 witnesses were testified in the case, the most important witness of which was Shiv Shankar Singh, uncle of Manoj. He stated in the testimony that the crime was already fully planned, including kidnapping, robbery and murder.
Shiv Shankar also identified a brown coat of Manoj from the house of the accused. This evidence further strengthened the case.
Incident of incident
According to the information, Manoj Kumar and Ravi Srivastava left for Rewa from Lucknow on 24 January 2000. They took six passengers near Charbagh railway station, including a woman. His location was last found near a tea shop in Harchandpur, Rae Bareli, after which he went missing. Three days later, his disappearance was lodged at Naka police station, but he was not found even after the search. His mutilated bodies were eventually found in the forests of Shankargarh in Prayagraj.
Background of accused
The real name of Raja Kolande is Ram Niranjan Cole. He is a resident of Shankargarh in Prayagraj and was an employee at the Central Ordnance Store (COD) in Naini. He has been accused of serious crimes earlier.
