Seoul: The tension between South Korea and North Korea is well known. North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un remains in the headlines for conducting missile tests every day. North Korea is continuously taking steps towards strengthening its weapons fleet. Recently, North Korea tested a new solid fuel-powered medium-range hypersonic missile. South Korea has always maintained that North Korea is conducting such missile tests to provoke it, and such tests are a serious threat to the peace of the Korean Peninsula.
South Korea’s military capability will increase
Amidst North Korea’s missile tests, South Korea has also done something which is sure to increase its military capability. In fact, a few days after North Korea confirmed its plan to launch several reconnaissance satellites this year, South Korea has launched its second military spy satellite. This military satellite of South Korea will especially keep an eye on the military activities of North Korea.
Know South Korea’s plan
South Korea’s second spy satellite was launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Sunday evening local time. South Korea’s Defense Ministry said in a statement that the satellite had been successfully separated from the rocket. Under a contract with SpaceX, South Korea is to launch five spy satellites by 2025. South Korea’s first spy satellite was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on December 1 last year.
