National Career Service (NCS) portal created by the central government (https://www.ncs.gov.in/The number of jobs available on NCS portal has crossed 20 lakhs. That is, more than 20 lakh posts are vacant, for which youth can apply according to their skills and qualifications. The jobs available on the NCS portal are in different sectors. These include jobs in finance and insurance (14.7 lakh), operations and support (1.08 lakh) and services activities (0.75 lakh). The available jobs include 0.71 lakh jobs in manufacturing, 0.59 lakh in transport and storage, 0.58 lakh in IT and communication, 0.43 lakh in education, 0.25 lakh in wholesale and retail sector and 0.20 lakh jobs related to the health sector.

Bumper opportunities for 12th pass, ITI

The wide number of jobs available from different sectors by the ministry shows that there are job opportunities in the industry. The existing jobs are for 12th pass, ITI and diploma degree holders. Giving information, the ministry said that jobs are also available for people who have received higher education and specialization. The NCS portal operated by the Ministry of Labor and Employment has become a good medium for finding jobs. In this, job opportunities are posted directly by employers, job fairs and private job portals through API integration.

Preparation to improve using AI

The ministry further said that preparations are being made to upgrade the NCS portal and bring NCS 2.0 with advanced technology. It will also provide the benefit of AI, through which job seekers and employers will get more benefits. Data presented by the government in Parliament this week showed that the unemployment rate of people between the ages of 15 and 29 has been declining for five consecutive years. It will come down to 10 percent in 2023-24, which was 17.8 percent in 2017-18.

The government has announced five schemes and incentives in Budget 2024-25 to increase employment and skill opportunities for 4.1 crore youth. Rs 2 lakh crore will be spent on these schemes in the next 5 years.
