Gandhinagar. In Gujarat, neither a single house was constructed under Sardar Awas Yojana nor a single rupee was allotted in the last two years. The state assembly was informed about this on Wednesday. Arjun Singh Chauhan, Minister of Panchayat, Rural Housing, Rural Development Department gave this information in response to many questions of Congress members.
He said that against the unit cost of a new house of Rs one lakh, the state government has provided Rs 40,000 to the beneficiary.
The state has made a provision of Rs.98 lakh for the next financial year for Sardar Awas Yojana and in the current year 2021-22, a provision of Rs.1.4 crore was made for the entire state for the scheme, out of which Rs.32.45 lakh has been utilized. Gone.
In a written reply to a question, the minister also pointed out that the state had utilized Rs 352.36 lakh towards interest paid on the Central Provident Fund and the amount allocated for leave salary and gratuity of the Board. The government had also allocated Rs 1,000 crore as a revolving fund.
As compared to Sardar Awas Yojana, the state government has spent a huge amount in housing construction under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Responding to a few questions, the Minister informed that the department had allocated and disbursed a total of Rs 6.47 crore for 2,225 units constructed in Kutch district under PMAY.
The department had also approved a total of 8,911 PMAY units in Dahod district in two years, while 4,050 units were constructed in 2020-21.
