New Delhi. Former Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram has selected the best bowler and batsman of the present time. The special thing is that there is no Pakistani among these two. He has described both the Indian players as the greatest players of the present time. Akram has described Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah as better batsman and bowler.
Wasim Akram said in an interview to Americacricket TV, “If I have to choose one, then maybe people of my country will not like him. Because my favorite fast bowler is India’s great bowler Jaspreet Bumrah. He is very different, and he impressed me because he is a good bowler in all three formats. He is still taking wickets. His speed is not very high but he swings the ball and he also has variations.”
Talking about batting greats, Arkam said, “If you talk about India’s Sunil Gavaskar, New Zealand’s Martin Crowe or Australia’s Allan Border, all these are big names. But one name comes first and that is West Indies’ great player Sir Vivian Richards. I think he was the best batsman ever to have adorned this beautiful game.”
Akram further said, “But then in the 90s I played with the great Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara of West Indies. There is the great Sir Vivian Richards as a batsman. But if I have to choose, there is another Indian batsman whom I really admire. His fitness is much talked about not only on the field but also off the field. He is none other than Virat Kohli.”
