30 people will get the option to share their screen
San Francisco, July 31 (IANS)| Encrypted messaging app Telegram has expanded its group video calling feature. With which now 1,000 people can join a group video call. The company said its group video calls allow up to 30 users to broadcast video from both their cameras and screens — and now up to 1,000 people can watch anything from online lectures to live rap fights.
Group video calls now have 1,000 viewers, record video messages in high quality and can be scaled up, allowing regular videos to be viewed at 0.5 or 2X the speed, the company said in a blogpost. That said, we’ve also added screen sharing with voice to all video calls, including 1-on-1 calls – and more.
The company said it will continue to increase this limit until all humans on Earth can join a group call and see us in celebration (coming soon). To start a group video call, create a voice chat from the info page of any group where you’re an admin, then turn on your video, the company said. According to the blogpost, tapping on an extended video message pauses it and you can fast forward or reverse the message if you’ve missed a word.
When turning on video during any call, the company said, you can swipe up to select a camera or share your screen instead — and use the video preview to make sure everything goes live before going live. Something is right.
